2024 UN Youth Environmental Conference (Model UN)

Attending the 2024 UN Youth Environmental Conference was an unforgettable experience. As the United States delegate in this Model UN event, I had the opportunity to engage with young leaders from around the world to discuss pressing environmental issues and explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can help address climate change.

One of the most inspiring moments of the conference was hearing Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, speak about the importance of youth activism and the urgent need for climate action. His words reinforced my belief that young people play a crucial role in shaping a sustainable future.

Throughout the conference, we debated how AI and big data can be leveraged to enhance climate research, improve predictive analytics, and promote sustainable lifestyles. I actively participated in discussions, helping to craft policies that integrated technology with environmental conservation efforts. These debates also addressed the ethical implications of AI in climate policy, ensuring that technological advancements align with global sustainability goals.

As the U.S. delegate, I collaborated with other representatives to propose resolutions that balanced economic development with environmental responsibility. This experience deepened my understanding of international policy-making and the importance of diplomatic negotiations in solving global challenges.

Beyond the debates and policy discussions, I had the chance to connect with other young leaders who share a passion for environmental advocacy. The event left me with a renewed commitment to sustainable development and a strong desire to take action in my own community.
