Debate Club

The Online Debate Club has been an invaluable platform for students to develop their critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills. Originally founded by my older sister, Sophia, the club has grown into a dynamic space where members engage in thought-provoking discussions on global issues. I joined the club in November 2024 and took on the role of Vice President, where I played a key role in organizing meetings and selecting debate topics.

As Vice President, I worked closely with other members to ensure our discussions were engaging and insightful. One of the most impactful debates we held was centered on Model UN, where we explored the complexities of international diplomacy, climate change policies, and AI’s role in global sustainability efforts. I also introduced the members to the Model UN debate format, explaining how it works and preparing them for the kind of formal structure and collaboration required in such debates. These discussions allowed members to not only refine their argumentative skills but also develop a deeper understanding of world affairs.

Beyond debates, the club has provided an avenue for students to enhance their public speaking abilities and build confidence in presenting their ideas. Through structured meetings, research-based arguments, and constructive feedback, we have created an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued.

The Online Debate Club continues to be a space where young minds can challenge themselves, learn from diverse perspectives, and cultivate skills that extend far beyond the debate floor. I am proud to be a part of this journey and look forward to seeing how the club continues to evolve in the future.
